Stuttgart IV 2011

Am 10. und 11. Dezember 2011 richtete unser Club unter der Cheforganisation von Andreas Lazar sein erstes internationales Turnier aus - das Stuttgart IV 2011. 24 Teams aus 7 europäischen Ländern mit vielen deutschen und europäischen Meistern und mehrfachen Turniersiegern und Finalisten kamen. Nach vier Vorrunden und einem Halbfinale sowie einer großen Party mit einem DJ und viel weihnachtlichem Glühwein konnte sich schließlich das Team "Cilip" (Crt Podlogar und Filip Dobranic) aus Ljubljana im Finale gegen Sciences Po (Zhen Jie Im und Michael Thng), München (Markus Dankerl und Vladyslav Yaschenko) und "Making the most of EU free movement" (Megan Field und Stuart Cribb) durchsetzen. Bester Redner wurde Stuart Cribb aus Oxford.

Wir möchten uns nochmal bei den Chefjuroren Maja Cimerman, Daniël Springer und Michael Saliba, allen Teilnehmern und Helfern bedanken und hoffen, dass euch das Turnier auch viel Spaß gemacht hat! 2012 wird es sicherlich eine Fortsetzung geben.

Die Themen im Einzelnen: 


1. VR: THW make the right to vote contingent on basic knowledge about political issues
2. VR: THB that the EU should limit the amount of energy individuals are allowed to consume.
3. VR: As a parent, THW not lie to its children about the existence of Santa Claus.
4. VR: THW allow young boys to undergo chemical castration to preserve their singing voice.
Halbfinale: THW militarily intervene in Syria.
Finale: THW make Drion's Pill publicly available. (Info slide: Drion's pill is a fictitious suicide method that is comprised of two pills. These pills need to taken with a five day interval between them. The first pill is harmless on its own, but taking both pills will result in a humane death.)
